Each chocolate egg is lovingly hand crafted by our little team of chocolate fairies in our rural Warwickshire parlour.
To make your chocolate wedding eggs we first decorate our egg moulds with edible cocoa butter paints. Next, our chocolate fairies expertly temper a large vat of our sustainably sourced smooth signature chocolate. This involves melting chocolate couverture to exactly the correct temperature that it pre-crystallises, thus ensuring that ‘melt-in-the-mouth’ smooth texture when eaten. Once tempered, the chocolate is poured into the egg moulds. Every egg is made up of two or three extra thick layers of delicious chocolate.
After cooling in our special temperature controlled unit, the final step is for the half egg shells to be popped out of their moulds and assembled. At this stage a printed message from yourself (same message in all ten eggs) is hidden inside. The message will serve as a thoughtful memento of your event long after the chocolate has been eaten!
In order for our chocolate fairies to craft and package your chocolate eggs specially for you, we require at least 2 weeks notice. If you require the eggs to be posted to you, then please allow at least 3 weeks between ordering and your event- longer at busy times (Feb-April and Oct-Dec). Sample packs (containing 2 eggs, each in a different chocolate type) can be collected/posted to you within 3-5 working days. Please contact us if you are unsure.
We believe in simple, natural flavours derived from real ingredients, with no nasties added. This, along with the care and attention we give to each individual product- from sustainably sourcing ingredients and packaging, to production and boxing up to be shipped- really sets our chocolate apart from the highstreet ‘norm’. We are proud that these wedding/event favours are free of single-use plastic. The eggs are wrapped in pretty aluminium foil (choice of gold or silver) for freshness and each comes in its own cute, kraft card presentation box. The message inside the egg is printed on paper and protected in a compostable Natureflex bag. The aluminium foil, card and paper can be recycled and the Natureflex bag can responsibly disposed of in your household rubbish bin, where it will degrade in landfill without harm to the environment.
