Our chocolate making parties are suitable for children of ages from 6 upwards (younger siblings from age 3 upwards are welcome with a dedicated adult to assist them with activities). Toys to occupy younger children are available.
Our parties consist of one of two chocolate making activities and a chocolate flavour guessing game. All chocolates made are taken home by our guests.
We believe in making our chocolates from ingredients giving the children skills that they can take home with them after the party. Age appropriately chocolate will be tempered, moulded and decorated by the children with adult help only where needed - so much more fun that way! These are hands on workshops and sticky, messy fun!
For younger children (9 and younger)
Mini slab bars – chocolate slab bars are cocoa butter painted, poured into moulds and decorated with a variety of specialist chocolate inclusions.
Filled chocolates and fudge – chocolate truffle mixed to be weighed out and hand rolled by participants then rolled in chocolate and decorated.
Chocolate pizzas – chocolate to be poured onto paper plate 'pizza moulds' and decorated with different 'ingredients' – grated white chocolate for cheese etc – the imagination of the children is the limit with this one.
Older children and young people (10 years old and above)
All of the above plus hollow egg figures and / or chocolate frogs to be cocoa butter painted, poured in to moulds in layers of molten chocolate to create strong, hollow shell. Both eggs and frogs can be filled with chocolate inclusions if desired.
Hand Piped chocolate lollipops - molten chocolate is piped in to lollipop shapes of your choosing and decorated with a coloured pattern on one side and specialist chocolate inclusions on the reverse.
The price of our workshops include provision of aprons for children, all ingredients and tuition and specialist chocolate packaging for children to take home their creations with them. We provide bags for children to take their creations home with them which can serve as party bags. You are welcome to add cake and other items to these bags if you wish but this is obviously not essential.
During the workshops we also provide other chocolate based activities for our guests including the chocolate tasting game which is generally popular!
All of our workshops for children used mainly sustainably sourced milk chocolate although other options are available. Please advise when booking of any relevant food intolerances or allergies so that we can ensure that appropriate provision is made. Most allergies, intolerances and food related diseases can be catered for.
Our charges for the workshop are based on the number of activities and the number of guests that will be attending, and whether guests would like simple buffet-style party food to be provided.
